New Car Reviews, Commercials & Best Car Video's The Dodge Dart is a compact sedan that debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show on January 9, 2012.[5] The Dart is based on a version of the Fiat Compact platform, like the Alfa Romeo Giulietta but enlarged 1.5 in (38 mm) in width and with a 3.7 in (94 mm) longer wheelbase that is now called the Compact US Wide (CUSW) platform. Development cost of the Dart was US$1 billion and took about 18 months to design the Dart on the platform of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta adapted to US requirements.[6] The Dart is Dodge's first compact sedan since the discontinuation of the Dodge Neon and Dodge Neon SRT-4 in 2005. As part of 2013 Dodge Dart launch campaign, a new 90-second commercial premiered on July 10, during the Major League Baseball (MLB) 2012 All-Star Game broadcast on the Fox network. The commercial titled 'How to Change Cars Forever' is a rapid-fire 'instructional' spot on how to make a world-class car today, providing an inside look into the Dodge brand's approach to designing and engineering its much anticipated entry into the highly competitive compact car segment.[31] The TV spot introduces the tagline, 'New Rules,' which speaks to how Dodge is redefining what a compact car can be. It was followed by 30-second and 60-second versions airing on major broadcast and cable networks and in movie theaters, beginning in summer, with the 60-second ad running in theaters nationwide from July 20 to August 31.
