Group B was a set of regulations introduced in 1982 for competition vehicles in sportscar racing and rallying regulated by the FIA. The Group B regulations allowed the most insane and powerful vehicles ever to be built and rallied. Many people considered the group B cars to be too powerful and dangerous but this is what drew the huge crowds which lead to a number of incidents. Group B racing was cancelled in 1986 after Henri Toivonen, and Sergio Cresto were burned alive in their Lancia Delta S4 following a crash in which the fuel tanks they were sitting on ignited while they were trapped in the car | From:littleport2003 Views:2 2ratings | |
